Abhaye Valabhji official Toyota distributor |05 March 2014
Abhaye Valabhji (AV) Group is since Friday February 28, 2014 the official Toyota distributor in Seychelles.
The launch ceremony took place at the Abhaye Valabhji showroom at Providence and Anil Valabhji was present to speak on behalf of his father, Abhaye Valabhji, the founder and group chairman of AV Group.
President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Francis Macgregor, Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports Minister Vincent Meriton, Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St Ange, Masato Hirai from Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and Akira Yamada from Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) were among the distinguished guests present.
The Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) was started in 1936 to provide consumer financing for Toyota cars, and Toyota has remained one of its main money sources ever since.
The TTC is a Japanese trading house that works with other companies to find the right markets for their products. It is now the trading unit for the Toyota group which includes Toyota Motor and auto-parts maker DENSO.
Toyota Motor Corporation owns 22% of the company, while Toyota Industries also owns 11%.
During a five-year long partnership which flourished between Toyota and AV Group, the latter was appointed a provisional Toyota distributor in 2012. Soon after completing its probation period in 2013 the company received a bronze award for exceeding its sales target.
AV Group is now a well-established company soon due to celebrate its golden anniversary and has the honour of representing many world renowned brands such as Yamaha, Daihatsu, Subaru, Hino and many more. The addition of the Toyota brand to its portfolio is a great achievement and manages to enrich the agglomeration.
To many, Toyota symbolises quality and superiority as one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. With an array of factories in multiple countries, its success and profitability is undoubtedly one of the most impressive.
“With such a well-diversified line-up, coupled with their unsurpassed quality standard and continuous product development, we foresee a bright future for both Toyota and AV Group in Seychelles,” said Mr Valabhji.
Abhaye Valabhji announced that this year it has pledged itself to be the main sponsor of the 2014 Carnaval International de Victoria’s lottery, sponsoring a brand new Toyota Yaris as the star prize as a way to say thank you to the people of Seychelles.
To commemorate this milestone event, AV Group produced a series of TV adverts which was screened for all to see at the ceremony.
In addition to this it is also launching a special promotion of R10,000 rebate for any Toyota vehicle booked or purchased during the month of March.
Mr Anil Valabhji took the opportunity to thank Messrs Hirai and Yamada for having flown all the way from Japan to officially launch this distributorship and the Seychelles team of organisers. There were special thanks to Dinesh, Janine, the sales marketing service team plus many others who have worked behind the scenes to coordinate and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Mr Valabhji also thanked his family for their undivided support and all present for taking time off to be with AV Group family to celebrate this milestone event.
