New resources to promote learning at Mont Fleuri primary |05 May 2011
The donation has been made possible due to teamwork between the school and parents through a raffle organised last year by the school’s former Parent Teachers Association (PTA) committee.
Milena Joubert, chairperson of the school’s council, handed over the donation to pupils during a short ceremony held recently at the school.
Mrs Joubert called on all students to use these materials wisely and urged parents to always take part in activities organised by the school.
Attending the event were director general for schools Odile Octave, members of the school’s management team, teachers, students, PTA and school council members and parents.
The school’s headteacher Marie-Thérèse Elizabeth said the presentation of materials marks the PTA’s endeavour to promote teaching and learning.
She said the donation marks another event whereby through parental involvement, students will benefit from a variety of educational materials.
Mrs Elizabeth thanked the PTA members for raising funds for the school, adding that now the students have a bank of reading books, educational games and maths books, among other resources.
She also called on the students to make good use of the learning materials they have received.
During the ceremony, former members of the PTA committee received tokens of appreciation for their hard work and devotion.
